Tutor Terms & Conditions

For the purposes of this Terms & Condition, “Service” refers to Success Tuition’s service which can be accessed via our website at www.successtuition.com.sg, in which users can seek for and enquire regarding the engaging of a Home Tutor, or for Tutors to register their services with us. The terms “Client” refers to Parents or Students who enquire and/or engage our services, “Tutor” refers to Tutors that have registered with our Company and may be assigned to Clients, and “Tutee” refers to the student having the Home Tuition. By using Success Tuition’s services, both Clients and Tutors agree and accept our Terms & Conditions.


The Terms & Conditions as set forth herein specifies that Registration with Success Tuition as a Tutor is a Free Service with no registration or membership fees whatsoever. Success Tuition reserves the right to deny, cancel, and/or refuse any application. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and above with a minimum of ‘O’ Levels qualification. Applicants must also reside in Singapore, and either be a Singaporean or Permanent Resident. All personal information provided by Applicants must as true and accurate as reasonably possible. Severe legal actions will be taken against any Applicant who attempt or try to attempt to provide any fictitious or false information that may be proven otherwise.

Qualifications and Verifications

All Applicants who register to be our Registered Tutor are required to provide true and accurate information of their academic qualifications. Any attempt by any Applicant to mislead, cheat, or misrepresent themselves to our Clients via Success Tuition will be dealt with, with severe Legal actions. It is encouraged that Applicants attach any relevant Certificates and/or Awards for verification purposes. Success Tuition reserves the right to request for a copy of the Applicant’s Certificates, Awards, and/or Qualifications for verification purposes. For the 1st tuition lesson, the Applicant is required to bring along his/her NRIC, and all relevant Certificates, and/or Awards for the Client to verify and authenticate.


The Tutor agrees to pay us, Success Tuition, in exchange for the services rendered, a Commission of 50% of the 1st month’s Tutor’s fees. Commission will be based upon the first 4 weeks of active lessons by the Tutor. The Commission percentage established in this clause cannot be modified by the Parties, unless it is mutually agreed in writing. Any cancellation or postponement of lessons in the first month will not affect the Commission agreed upon unless it is mutually agreed in writing. The Client shall pay the Commission to Success Tuition on behalf of the Tutor. All subsequent payments of Tutor’s fees will be directly by the Client to the Tutor. In the event that the Client pays the Commission to the Tutor, the Tutor must transfer the Commission to us, Success Tuition Agency on behalf of the Client. Legal actions may be taken against the Tutor if the Tutor fails to do so by the given due date. For Tutors who try to evade and/or under-cut us, Success Tuition, or propose better rates and/or fees to the Client during the first month of assignment, Success Tuition will not hesitate to report to the legal authorities and unequivocally reserve the right to take legal actions to claim for any losses incurred.

Assignment Commitment

For every assignment, there is a minimum commitment of one month’s period and Tutors are not allowed to cancel the tuition assignment before the expiration of that period. For assignments with pre-determined durations that have been specified before commencement, we strongly urge Tutors to fully abide by the agreed upon duration. For any reason whatsoever, should the need to change the first lesson’s schedule arise, the Tutor shall be responsible to call and inform the Client of the reason with no less than 3 days’ notice, reschedule the lesson, and inform Success Tuition’s co-ordinator in charge, of the reschedule. Any response, confirmation, acceptance, acknowledgement by the Tutor, by way of SMS, Whatsapp, email, verbal, or any other forms of communication, received by the agency, shall be deemed to be accepted and confirmed by the Tutor, and is legally binding. 

Cancellation of Assignment

If the Tutor cancels or terminates the tuition assignment prior to the start of the first lesson, or before completing the first 4 weeks of lessons, the Tutor will be liable to pay for the intended agency fee equivalent to 50% of the first month’s Tutor’s fees for the assignment. Exceptions to this rule may be allowed if the Tutor is able to provide a valid reason and substantiate it for early termination. Such reason including but not limited to: unforeseen illness which requires hospitalisation. Supporting documents are required for verification purposes.

During the first month of the tuition assignment, the Client has the unequivocal right to terminate the tuition assignment at any point in time after commencement of tuition if the Client finds that the Tutor is unsuitable, for any reason whatsoever. In such an event, the Client will pay for all lessons that have been conducted thus far to Success Tuition, and the Tutor will receive 50% of the amount paid. In such cases, whereby the Client terminates the tuition assignment due to the unacceptable behaviour of the Tutor, such as but not limited to, frequent postponements or cancellations of lessons, arriving late or ending the lesson before the stipulated time, using of mobile phone during lesson etc., there will be no compensation made to the Tutor. Every Assignment will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

In the event that the Tutor did not turn up for the first lesson, or only provide last minute notice of postponement or cancellation of the lesson, which ultimately leads to the cancellation of the tuition assignment by the Client, the Tutor will be held liable for the intended Commission for the assignment. Success Tuition reserves the unequivocal right to take legal actions against Tutors for the claim and all costs incurred in the process.


Assignments will be posted on our website. Tutors are also encouraged to like us on our Facebook page to receive timely assignment updates and/or subscribe to our available assignments mailing list. Individual assignments may also be notified to suitable Tutors via text or call. By registering with us, Success Tuition, Tutors will be deemed to have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions as set forth herein this website’s Terms & Conditions, and have given consent for us to send such information. Registered Tutors who do not wish to receive any more assignment updates or receive any notifications from us may write in to contact@successtuition.com.sg

Tutor’s Code of Conduct

The purpose of this code is to provide a clear framework within which all registered Tutors of Success Tuition are expected to conduct themselves. The following list of conducts that every registered Tutor must abide by is by no means exhaustive:

  • Be punctual for all lessons and never leave before session’s stipulated end time
  • Dress appropriately for tuition
  • Prepare lesson plans and materials before hand
  • Timely communications with Client to update on student’s progress
  • Be responsible to always inform Client in advance of any change of schedule
  • No verbal and physical abuse to the Tutee
  • Tutor will be held responsible to pay for any loss of or damage to property at the Tutee’s home, if Tutor is ascertained to be the perpetrator

Success Tuition reserves the right to amend the T&C at any point in time without notice.
